Nester has brought more plants into her house, and Kimba’s been busy spray painting bunnies. Emily is getting her garden ready, while both Lindsay and Kristen are creating spring wreaths.
Inspired to do some of my own spring decorating, I got a few things done today.
One of my favorite things about this time of year is the blossoming fruit trees. We don’t have any fruit trees on our property, so the kids and I took a walk with my gardening shears. Voila! Fresh blossoms.
The next thing I did was directly inspired by Nester’s succulents.
I’ve had this old urn -a flea market find- sitting in my garage, just begging for a use.
While I was buying succulents at the nursery, the fresh herbs caught my eye…
Please ignore the filthy window! Spring cleaning hasn’t happened yet…
And for the children, I did this.
I’m not usually a plastic-y kind of girl, but I saw this at Design Mom. In fact, I was so proud of myself because last year, I went to Target and bought a bag of 48 plastic eggs for 19 cents. Now that’s called planning ahead!
That’s enough for now. Next on the agenda is the vegetable garden.
This year we’re planting tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, kale, sweet peas, pumpkin, and watermelon.

Love the easter egg idea! My kids have had their easter baskets out since Valentines Day! This would be a great decoration that the kids could sort for me.
Thanks everyone. I love giving the home a fresh feel.
Marci–I got the idea from Design Mom. She always has really cute decorating ideas!

I love all of it, but you can’t beat the cheap plastic eggs for color and price!!
We are planting my first garden ever this year! And I must admit, it’s scaring the crap out of me!! I just hope I don’t kill all of it!
