In response to yesterday’s post, I received quite a few comments indicating interest in getting the Style Statement book.
I love this book. Love, love, love this book. The funny thing is that when this book was being released last year, we were leaving for a family vacation to Costa Rica only 5 days before the book release. I was like, Nooooooooo! I wanted to take this book with me so badly, knowing that I had many un-scheduled tropical days ahead of me. What’s better than reflecting and unearthing your authentic self while surrounded by tropical fauna and howler monkeys?
I had to wait until we got back from Costa Rica, but the book was everything I wanted and more. It was fantastic and it spoke to me on so many levels. I still refer to it.
When I eventually settled on my style statement, Graceful Creative, I felt at home. I felt like I was being acknowledged…even though it was me acknowledging ME.
Life is an invitation to live out loud, in color, in contrast to everything around you that is shellacked or shallow or sold in bulk. Bring your whole self to work. Paint the world with your opinions. Say yes! to your assets and your foibles. Get dressed up. Take pride in what you love. Cordially decline offers to conform. Be profoundly and completely you, and revel in the deep peace that such sincerity brings.
So now that I’ve sold you on the book even more, don’t run out and buy it just yet!

I have the book already as I bought it to take to hospital….how far did I get? Not far sadly. I think I need a whole weekend retreat to read and do the exercises. The word Refined did speak to me though when I starting reading (as one of the authors had it didn´t she?).
The trouble is the other side of me is wild and not refined…. I need to find another word

I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now and absolutely LOVE it, so much in fact that I ordered the book yesterday and got confirmation this morning that it was on it’s way to me as I type! I can’t wait. I am looking for exactly what you got out of the book. I hope it speaks to me as well.

Sounds like a fun giveaway to me! Super idea. Hope your trip is amazing and peaceful, don’t worry about the kiddos-if they’re like mine they’ll cry when you come home because they’ve had so much while you were gone!
