I hope you all had a wonderful and special Mother’s Day today. Me? I spent it cleaning, strategically moving furniture around, and generally shoving things into hidden places. {The photographer comes to take pictures of the house tomorrow!}
After a long {but still special} day, I took some creative time to create gift bags for my daughter’s upcoming 4th birthday party. You can see her frisbee invitations here.
Step 1: Paint white paper different shades of the rainbow.
Step 2: Use a compass to draw varying sizes of circles on the wrong side of the paper. The red circles should be largest, then orange, then so forth, following the colors of the rainbow.
Step 3a: Tear circles out of paper. Hold the paper so that you tear the circle towards you, and the scraps go down. **This is very important so that you get that very cool white edge around the circles.** (see below)
Step 3b: See the cool white edge!
Step 4: Keep tearing until you have a circle of each color. Glue.
Step 5: Draw a line across the back, dividing the circle in half.
Step 6: Cut along line. Voila! You have two rainbows.
Step 7: Glue to the gift bags.

Thanks for sharing this tutorial! The rainbows look so bright and beautiful on the black bags! I’m definitely adding this to my list of things to do for a rainbow party I’m planning in September. Thanks again!
