Edit, Add, Appreciate — May 1

It’s Sunday…time to edit, add, and appreciate one thing in your life that will help you be a better you.

Edit one thingmaterial objects, negative thoughts, bad habits, or activities that don’t reflect who you are as a person. It doesn’t have to be a physical thing; Sometimes bad habits and negative thoughts are more detrimental than physical clutter.
Add something. Bring in something or reinvent one thing in your life–thoughts, habits, activities, clothing, objects…Add something that will help you be a better person; And yes, sometimes a new pair of jeans can help!
Appreciate something or someone already in your life. Hug your children and tell them how special they are. Call your spouse, just because. Be extra polite to the guy who makes your latte. Frame that favorite piece of art.

{Continue to} Edit 50 things from my home. 22 down, 28 to go.

{Continue to} Add the 30-day habit of drinking a green smoothie every day. (I’ve had a green smoothie every day for the last 27 days–this is a habit that I love and I plan on continuing for a very, very long time.)

Appreciate my husband. I had the same *Appreciate* last week, and I’m going to keep it for at least another week. I did a good job (I think) of appreciating him last week, but this week it’s for a different reason. Let’s just say that he’s getting a little pissy and impatient because of the stress of getting our house ready to go on the market. I know it’s just the stress and it’s nothing personal; however, if you’re anything like me, you take it personally. I’m going to remind myself that it’s not personal, and I’m going to continue to love him and show him extra patience, even when he has little to share.

Your turn — what will you edit, add, and appreciate this week?

My next 30 day habit that I’m going to tackle is a good skincare routine. I’m 37 years old…it’s about time!
Do you have any products or habits that you swear by?

Can I just tell you, I love Edit, Add, Appreciate? Thank you for posting these every week, and congratulations to you on the “22 down” and the Day 27 of green smoothie-ness! Well done you! :) Here is my little list:

Edit: The negative self-talk. [Yes, this was here before. I am still doing it :( so it still needs to stay here.]

Add: A daily morning walk, Monday - Friday. I’ve managed to do this three out of the five days … but not all five days yet.

Appreciate: The blessings around me. Greece is nearing a crisis (some would say we’re already there). I am blessed that I have a home, a job, a husband whom I adore, and so many other things. I hope to stay mindful of this.

Also, Karen, you might enjoy something new I’m doing on my own blog starting today (Sunday): weekly additions to my Joy List with reader contributions. It totally emphasizes appreciating. :)

Hope you’re well. Hang in there with all of the house stress. “This too shall pass.” (And when it does you’ll be in a beautiful new home of your dreams:) ).

@ chania girl~ I’m glad you love EAA…I love that you join me each week! Thanks for cluing me in to your Sunday Joy List. It’s totally up my alley. : )

@ denise~ I’ve been craving the green smoothies–they’re so refreshing. BTW, did I mention that my husband has a (daily)green smoothie with me?

I’m doing it . . . I’m adding in a green smoothie every day. I had my first one this morning and LOVED it. Thanks for the idea.

I’m editing negative tv out of my life. I love TV but there are some things I watch that don’t contribute ANYTHING and just leave me feeling yucky inside. It’s time for them to go.

I’m appreciating the amazing city of Prague that I live in, because I’ll only live here another few months and it’s a wonderful place to live.
