Observations:
Being a week in, I weighed myself this morning. I usually avoid the scale because of the negative psychological impact it has on my psyche. However, I thought that it would be interesting to weigh myself for the sake of this 21-day journey.
Anyhow, I know several of you must be wondering how much, so… 2.6 pounds. Ta da!
FYI: I took my measurements at the beginning of the cleanse, and I’ll be putting more importance on my inches-lost than how many pounds I lost.

I’m so impressed! I’m getting inspired to do this myself. You are very wise in measuring inches and not pounds. Pounds don’t mean as much when you are building muscle. Keep up the good work!!
woo hoo !! I know that we should not get tied up by the scale but you have to admit it feels pretty dang good to see the numbers come down.
fresh 365 looks like a great site - I just bookmarked it : )
Hey K, I’ve been out of the blogosphere for the last couple of days (Chris and I have had a few days off) so just catching up on your posts.
Wow, it sounds like the cleanse is going really well; sleeping soundly, no PMS monster and weight lost! I’m impressed.
You really notice the effect of sugar and processed food when you eat it after cutting it out of your diet for a while. For me it’s a general feeling of “blah”. I feel sluggish, moody and don’t sleep well. Is it any wonder Chris hides the chocolate and cake?
@ marci~
I would recommend it to everyone, because it makes *you* very mindful of what you’re eating. It doesn’t mean you have to continue eating like this, but you may end up making a few changes to your diet in the long run. I’m going to be very curious to see if my body reacts when I add a little gluten to my diet.
@ denise~
Yes, it is nice to see the scale go down, regardless. That 365 site is great for ideas! I’m glad you like it. ; )
@ Sami~
I’m sorry I haven’t been around your blog lately…I haven’t been around any blogs these days. I’m like an ostrich, burying her head in the sand…Yeah, the cleanse is going well. I kind of wonder what I’ll return to when the 21 days are over. A big part of me wants to dive head-first into a bowl of brownie batter, but then I also feel like a heroin addict going back to her addiction, ya know?
Hey K, I know you’re super busy so don’t worry at all about not being around. We’ll be there when you’ve got time to come visit.
Totally get what you mean re feeling like a heroin addict (not that a sugar addiction has anything on heroin mind you)! I’ve done a month trial in the past where I cut out all sugar except natural sugar (ie honey, fruit). I found that I craved the refined sugar like you wouldn’t believe for the first couple of weeks but I resisted the urge. Then a strange thing happened, I started to crave fruit.
It seems you’re right in the middle of the withdrawals but if you stay on task I’m sure the good stuff will be on the other side.
