Today’s post was supposed to be my take on a Week’s Worth of Style. Umm… yeah.
I have been putting my seven outfits together, but I’m not finished. Truth be told, I doubt I’m going to use all 22 items that were used in the original Lucky article. Let’s face it — it’s summer time! This is the time of year that I wear the least amount of clothing possible, and in the middle of a heat wave, comfort always trumps style.
My take on a week’s worth of style will be up and posted next Friday. Please join me! If you need a little inspiration, be sure to check out Jill’s tips in her guest post.
In the meantime, I didn’t want to skip a Signature Style post altogether, so here we go…
I have taken *buying in multiples* to a whole new level this summer. Let me introduce my go-to dress of the summer.

I wear these two dresses all. the. time.
They’re easy to slip on, they provide comfort & style, and they’re a great swimsuit cover up! They can actually be worn as skirts too, but I can’t pull off the praire skirt look.
How do you feel about buying in multiples? Do you do it?
This post has been linked to Hooked on Houses, since I’m oviously hooked on my summer dress(es)!

Hey K - look at you! You’re a babe! The dresses totally suit you. I totally buy multiples. I have 3 pairs of lightweight linen trousers in navy, natural and white. I went to get a black pair too, but they had run out. These are my summer staples.
I totally believe in multiples - i am 37 and, finally a few years ago, I decided that when I find something i love I have to remember that when i want another one they will no longer be making them…
I found my perfect (then) T shirt at Esprit back then and bought it in at least 5 colurs. Now i am older and recently found a better quality one at my favourite store and through sales have replaced the Esprits with a new bounty of 7 well made Ts.
I have capris that are in sets of 2’s and even shoes i will now buy in 2 colours.
Cute dress(es)! I’m not usually a big fan of buying multiples unless it’s an absolute staple (like a white tank), but even then I’m probably going to want a variation on the style (thin straps, thick straps, ribbed, etc.). I did, however, just buy a pair of black flats that are EXACTLY the same pair I wear all the time. I love them so much and their so comfortable that I just couldn’t risk not having them in the future (and the ones I have now are totally getting worn down) so I absolutely get the buying multiples thing even though I don’t do it very often!
love it. i think i have all ready told you that i have 3 of the same long sleeve t shirt in different colors. staples in the winter!!
Cute dresses. I love summer staples, just put them on and go! I never really bought multiples until I found the perfect slouchy tee at Target and I bought five. Now, I actually wish I bought more….
I love your dresses. If I had the money, and I found something that fit and I liked (but came in a different color) I would definitely by in multiples. It has been so long (with the 2 babies) that I have had a chance to really go shopping:)
Yes to multiples. (Um, do running shoes count?). The right plain black/grey/white fitted tshirts for sure. Right now I am wishing I had a uniform; I’m so annoyed with having to figure out what looks good — says the girl who used to read Lucky and InStyle. Hrmph!
Anyone else go through stages, too?
Cool dresses. Last summer, I bought a few dresses just like them (only a bit shorter - I’m a hobbit so long dresses don’t suit me).
I have bought in multiples but I’ll only do it if I really love what I’m buying and it’s not overly expensive.
Love the dresses! Such flattering colors!
I normally buy multiples in the classic pieces, like cardigans and button-down shirts. It’s funny because my Mister is ALL ABOUT multiples. When he finds something he likes, he buys one of every color! too funny
@ mo~
You always know how to brighten my day! Thanks, love!
@ Deb~
Yeah, I’m the same — if I find something that I just love, love, love, I know that it’s worth buying another one.
@ PP~
I usually only buy multiples of staples, too. This is the first time I’ve actually *duplicated* a dress purchase. I had the red one first, and I wore it so many times I decided to get another one.
@ Denise~
I remember you saying that. LOL…BTW, did you notice that neither of my dresses are black?! Shocking, huh?
@ jentine~
‘Grab and go’ is part of the reason I love these dresses!
@ Angie~
Thanks. I don’t shop a lot (or often) but every so often I find a winner!
@ Amy
I feel like I wear a bit of a uniform, often. And yes, I think I’ve definitely gone through different stages in my clothing. I’m still in the stage of “easy & washable” is #1, “cute & stylish” is #2.
@ Sami~
I love the length of these dresses because it hides my legs right now. (not currently one of my favorite body parts!)
@ Shannon~
I usually only buy multiples of “classic” pieces, too: tank tops, t-shirts, sweaters, … My husband is the same as yours — LOL. I don’t even want to count his t-shirts!!
I LOVE both dresses - so summery, fashionable and you look adorable in them - now just smile for the camera already
I buy in multiples too especially if I find something I LOVE.
