Exercise:
1-hour boot camp
Breakfast: 1-serving Bob’s Red Mill Mighty Tasty Hot Cereal, 2 Tbsp almond butter, 1/2 banana sliced,
Snack: apple larabar, and later…decaf soy latte (tall)
*** From 9 am to 1:30 pm, I was out doing Back to School things with my son. I intended to treat him to lunch at Whole Foods, but the choices turned out to be too weird for his taste. He wanted a treat at the Target-Starbucks, hence my soy latte. Once we got home and I made the boy his almond butter & honey sandwich, I wasn’t in the mood to prepare something for myself. Hence, the random snacking that I call “lunch”.
Lunch: a couple tastes of almond butter while making the boy’s sandwich, 1/2 cup Soy Delicious coconut ice-cream (hey, I’m just proud that I actually measured it out and didn’t eat straight from the container!!)
Afternoon Snack: corn tortilla chips + homemade guacamole ( avo, tomato, red onion, salt)
Dinner: (2) carrot apple muffins with almond butter, 1 cup decaf instant coffee
Observations:
Um, yeah. Anyone else notice the huge lack of vegetables and actual “meals” today?!
My advice to anyone to does this cleanse, is to be prepared for Day 9 and Day 10, when the novelty has worn off and you’re tired of spending all day in the kitchen. Ideally, I’d have treated myself to a delicious GF vegan meal from a restaurant this evening. Unfortunately, no such place is around here.
I managed to abide by all the “rules” of the cleanse, but I wouldn’t exactly describe today’s eats as “healthy.”
One interesting note –my decaf soy latte from Starbucks… I’ve never had one of these before, and I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t have any packets of stevia with me so I didn’t add any sweetener to it. And I always always always add sweeteners to my coffees and lattes. Anyhow, I wasn’t expecting it to taste as sweet (and yummy) as it did. My son had a taste and promptly made a face, because he didn’t find it sweet at all.
Could my taste buds be changing?
